Full-Day Tour of the Valdés Peninsula & Whale Watching Adventure
Join us for a full-day journey to the breathtaking Valdés Peninsula, a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1999 and one of Argentina’s most iconic natural treasures. We’ll depart in the morning from Puerto Madryn and head toward this extraordinary coastal reserve, known for its rich biodiversity and dramatic landscapes.
After approximately one hour, we’ll arrive at the eco-conscious village of Puerto Pirámides, where you’ll embark on a boat tour (ticket included) to witness the majestic southern right whales during their migration season (June to December). From January to March, the focus shifts to spotting southern fur seals and cormorants along the coastline.
Please note that no boat excursions operate from April to mid-June.
Lunch (not included) will be enjoyed in either Puerto Pirámides or Caleta Valdés, depending on the day’s schedule.
The adventure continues as we travel south through the peninsula’s wide open plains, passing the vast salt flats of Salina Grande and Salina Chica. We’ll reach Punta Delgada, the peninsula’s southern tip, and proceed to Punta Cantor for stunning views of the Atlantic coastline and the dramatic geological formation of Caleta Valdés, a narrow inlet sculpted by the sea.
These coastal areas are home to southern elephant seals, the largest seal species in the world, which can often be observed lounging on the beaches—depending on the time of year. In some cases, this southern route may be substituted with a visit to Punta Norte, another key wildlife hotspot, depending on the season and marine life activity.
Before returning to Puerto Madryn, we’ll make a final stop at the Carlos Ameghino Visitor Center, where exhibits highlight the peninsula’s unique ecosystems and abundant wildlife.
Throughout the day, keep an eye out for native fauna such as guanacos, rheas, Patagonian foxes, maras (Patagonian cavies), armadillos, and even skunks, offering endless opportunities for wildlife photography and unforgettable moments.

We return to Puerto Madryn in the early evening. A stop at Trelew Airport might be scheduled on the way to or from Punta Tombo, provided some passengers combine the tour with their flight in or out of Trelew.

In the evening, say farewell to Buenos Aires!
Dinner and tango show at La Ventana. Departure from your hotel towards the southern districts of Buenos Aires, San Telmo, where most of the “tanguerias” (tango clubs) are located.
The Tango music was born in the late 19th century in the “arrabales” (southern suburbs) of Buenos Aires, populated by “criollos” (Argentine natives), Italian and Spanish immigrants, some African descendants, and people from many other countries.
Their fights, their needs, their poverty, their passions, their pretense were the spark that created this mythical and passionate piece of Argentine culture. Its emotive lyrics are sometimes difficult to understand and almost impossible to translate, but always deeply poetic. Inaugurated in 1890, in the profound south of the “frontiers” of Buenos Aires, where the city gave way to the countryside, thugs and troublemakers would gather. Nowadays, it is a window to the past, though a show that travels through the history of Tango. It is also an ideal place to enjoy some excellent cuisine and delicious wine.
By midnight, after the show, return to the hotel.
